The engagement was announced 19 January, 2023, between Walter Gervase Beckett (born 16 January, 1987), son and heir of Sir Richard Gervase Beckett, 3rd Baronet (born 27 March, 1944), of Rievaulx, North Yorkshire, and his wife the former Elizabeth Ann Waterhouse (born 24 June, 1951), scion of that landed gentry family; & Poppy Elizabeth Maltby (born 1994), 2nd daughter of William John Maltby (born 5 September, 1959), of Baughurst, Hampshire, and his wife the former Sarah Catherine Ekins (born 1961).
Poppy Maltby is a great-granddaughter of the 6th Earl of Malmesbury:-
