The Hon Barbara Marie-Louise Constance Gilmour (nee Berry), who died 6 June, 2023, aged 87, was a scion of the Viscounts Kemsley.
She was born 28 December, 1935, the eldest daughter of Major the Hon Denis Gomer Berry (1911-1983), and his 1st wife the former Rosemary Leonora Ruth de Rothschild (1913-2013), scion of the eponymous banking dynasty; and married 2 December, 1954 (div 1983), Alexander Clement Gilmour, CVO (1931-2009), scion of the Gilmour baronets, a younger son of Lt-Col Sir John Gilmour, 2nd Baronet (1899-1977), and his second wife the Lady Mary Cecilia Rhodesia Hamilton (1896-1984). Her husband was a cousin of the 8th Earl Spencer, MVO (1924-1992), and stood sponsor at the christening of Lady Diana Spencer in 1961. Mrs Gilmour was an elder half-sister of the 3rd Viscount Kemsley (b 17 Apr, 1951).
She leaves issue, two sons, Rory and Christian and a daughter, Lucinda.
