Lieutenant-Commander Anthony Portal, RN, scion of the Portal baronets, died 8 February, 2023, aged 90.
He was born 19 June, 1932, second son of Admiral Sir Reginald Henry Portal, DSC, KCB (1894-1983), and his wife the former Helen Sophia Anderson (1902-1983), scion of that landed gentry family; and married 20 May, 1956, Chantal Marie-Francoise Dumast, daughter of Baron Gabriel Marie-François Guerrier de Dumast, of Château de Rozet, Saint-Vit, Doubs, France, by whom he had issue, three sons, Frederick (born 27 Sept 1958), William (born 10 Sept 1961), and Philip (born 16 Sept, 1963).
