John Walter Carre-Riddell, who died 5 August, 2022, aged 97, at Melbourne, Australia, was a scion of the Riddell baronets, born 1 May, 1925, son of Colonel Consett Carre-Riddell (1887-1953), and his wife the former Thora Menzies (who died 1963); and married 26 March, 1957, Margaret Louise (Margot) Krohn (who died 1986), by whom he had issue, two sons, Malcolm (born 1 May, 1960), and David (born 24 Oct, 1966), and two daughters, Fiona (born 21 January, 1958), and Susan (born 6 Dec, 1962).
