Baroness Guthrie of Craigiebank, OBE 1941-2022

The Baroness Guthrie of Craigiebank, OBE, who died 8 October, 2022, was the wife of Field Marshal The Baron Guthrie of Cragiebank, GCB, GCVO, OBE, DL [born 17 November, 1938]. She was 81.

Her husband was Colonel of the Life Guards and Gold Stick in Waiting to Queen Elizabeth II, 1999-2019.

She was born 10 September, 1941, the former Catherine A. Worrall, daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Claude Worrall, OBE, MVO, of the Coldstream Guards, ofBitham Hall, Warwickshire, and his wife the former Cecilia Moore, and married 11 September, 1971, the then Major Charles Ronald Llewelyn Guthrie, scion of a landed family, son of Maj Ronald Guthrie and his wife the former Nina Llewelyn. 

Her husband, Chief of the General Staff 1994-97, and Chief of the Defence Staff 1997-2001, was raised to the peerage of life, in June 2001, as Baron Guthrie of Craigiebank.

Lady Guthrie leaves issue, two sons.
