Lady Owen, who died 4 August, 2022, aged 93, was the widow of Sir John Arthur Dalziel Owen [1925-2010], a Judge of the High Court.
Valerie Ethell was born in 1928, daughter of William Ethell [1897-1987], and his wife the former Emily Alberta Dale [1904-92], and married John Owen in 1952. Her husband died 9 Dec, 2010.
Lady Owen leaves a son, [James] Alexander [born 1966], and a daughter, Melissa [born 12 Nov, 1960], who married 1 June, 1985 [div 1997], the Hon Michael-John Ulick Knatchbull [born 24 May, 1950], second son of the 7th Baron Brabourne [1924-2005], and his wife the [2nd] Countess Mountbatten of Burma [1924-2017], who held the peerage in her own right, daughter of the 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma [1900-79], and the Hon Edwina Cynthia Annette Ashley [1901-60].
