Sir John Dryden, 8th and 11th Baronet [Bts cr 1795 and 1733], died 29 June, 2022. He was 78.
John Stephen Gyles Dryden was born 26 September, 1943, son of Sir Noel Percy Hugh Dryden, 7th and 10th Baronet [1910-70], and his wife the former Rosamund Mary Scrope [1915-94], scion of that landed dynasty; and succeeded to both baronetcies on the death of his father, 23 March, 1970.
He married 10 April, 1970, Diana Constance Tomlinson [born 1944], daughter of Cyril Tomlinson, of Highland Park, Wellington, New Zealand, by whom he had issue, a son, Freddie, and a daughter, Caroline Diana Rosamund [born 1980]. The baronetcies now devolve upon his only son, [John] Frederick Simon Dryden, who was born 26 May, 1976.
The funeral takes place at Christ Church, Fairwarp, Uckfield, East Sussex, 18 July, 2022.
