Sir Christopher John Ashford Harris, 3rd Baronet 1934-2022

 Sir Christopher Harris, 3rd Baronet, died at Masterton, New Zealand, 22 April, 2022. He was 87.

Christopher John Ashford Harris was born 26 August, 1934, son of Sir Jack [Wolfred] Ashford Harris, 2nd Baronet [1906-2009], of Waikanae, Wellington, New Zealand, and his wife the former Patricia Penman, of Wahroonga, Sydney, New South Wales.

He succeeded his father, who died 26 Aug, 2009, aged 103. The baronetcy was created in 1932 for his grandfather the Rt Hon Sir Percy Harris, MP for Harborough 1916-18, and for SW Div of Bethnal Green 1922-45, who served as Liberal Chief Whip, 1935-45.

He married 24 April, 1957, Anna Karen de Malmanche, daughter of F. de Malmanche, of Auckland, New Zealand, by whom he had issue, a son and two daughters. The son, Andrew Frederick Ashford Harris, born 17 March, 1958, now succeeds to the baronetcy.
