Major Christopher Osgood Philip Hanbury, who died 10 May, 2022, aged 78, was a scion of that landed gentry family. He was born 16 February, 1944, son of Squadron Leader Osgood Philip Villiers Hanbury, DSO, DFC, RAF [1917-1943], and his wife the former Cecil Patricia Harman [1915-2004], scion of that Irish landed gentry family; married 2 Dec, 1969, Bridget Anne Birch, daughter of Charles Francis Birch [1904-74], and his wife the former Catherine Alice Anne John [1909-88], by whom he had two sons, Charles and George, and four daughters, Zahra, Emma, Arabella and Jessica.
