Sir Alastair Buchan-Hepburn, 7th Baronet 1931-2022

 Sir Alastair Buchan-Hepburn, 7th Baronet, died 1 February, 2022, aged 90.

John Alastair Trant Kidd Buchan-Hepburn was born 27 June, 1931, a descendant of the 1st baronet, son of John Trant Buchan-Hepburn [1890-1953], and his wife the former Edith Margaret Mitchell Robb [died 1980]; he succeeded to the baronetcy on the death in 1992 of his third cousin, Sir Ninian Buchan-Hepburn, 6th Bt [1922-92].

Sir Alastair was a Capt, King's Dragoon Guards, and ADC to the GOC Commanding Malaya, 1956-57.

He married 21 September, 1958, Georgina Elizabeth Turner, daughter of Oswald Morris Turner, MC, of Armathwaite, Cumberland, by whom he had issue, three daughters, Caroline [b 30 May 1958], Sarah [b 17 Apr 1960], and Louise [b 17 Nov 1966], and a son, [John] Christopher Alastair Buchan-Hepburn [born 9 March, 1963, who died 11 Oct, 2017, aged 54].

Sir Alastair is succeeded as 8th baronet by his grandson, John James Christopher Thomas Buchan-Hepburn [who was born 1 Dec, 1992].
