Hugh Struan Weare Blakeney, who died 16 February, 2022, aged 88, was a scion of that Irish family, born in 1933, son of Capt Henry Edward Hugh Blakeney, MC, of An Cala, Isle of Seil, Argyll, and his wife the former Iris Bullough; and married 10 February, 1970, Jane Margaret Christina Victoria Duckworth [born 1 January, 1941], daughter of Capt Auberon Charles Alan Campbell Duckworth, DSO, RN [1907-87], of Ticehurst, Sussex, a descendant of the Earls of Carnarvon, and his wife the former Christina Elsie Williams, by whom he had issue, two daughters, Julia and Christina.
