Maj. Michael Wogan Festing, late the Rifle Brigade, Knight of Malta, died 12 December, 2021, aged 82.
He was born 2 August, 1939, the second son of Field Marshal Sir Francis Wogan Festing, GCB, KBE, DSO [1902-76], sometime head of that landed gentry family, and a Chief of the Imperial General Staff, and his wife the former Mary Cecilia Riddell [1906-1992], scion of that landed gentry family.
Michael Wogan was an older brother of the portrait painter, Andrew Festing, and of the late Fra Matthew Festing, a former Grand Master of the Order of Malta, who died 12 November, 2021.
He married in 1972, Teresa Taylor, by whom he had issue.
