Charles Lancelot Dawes, who died 12 December, 2021, aged 83, was a scion of that Irish landed gentry family, born 23 January, 1938, son of Maj D'Arcy Armytage Dawes [1908-67], descended from the Armytage baronets, and his wife the former Naomi Isabella Thompson [1912-2001], scion of the Thompson baronets. He married 22 Aug, 1964, Valerie Ann Parkinson [born Townsend], daughter of Edward Walter Townsend, and his wife the fornmer Mary Euphemia Heymann [later Mrs George Parkinson], by whom he had issue, two sons, Nicholas and James, and a daughter, Isla.
