The engagement was announced 21 July, 2021, between [Arthur] Harry David Soames [born 1985], scion of that landed gentry family, son of the Hon Sir [Arthur] Nicholas Winston Soames [born 12 Feb, 1949], of London, and his first wife the former Catherine Nony Weatherall [Mrs Catherine Soames, of London, born 1956], & [Alexandra] Constance Harriet Foster [born 1990], eldest daughter of Toby James Foster, of Stopham, West Sussex, and his wife the former Arabella Charlotte Lucinda Laing [born 9 March, 1960], descended from the Pennington-Ramsden baronets.
Harry Soames is a great-grandson of Sir Winston Churchill, KG, OM [1874-1965]. His bride-to-be is a great-granddaughter of Sir Geoffrey Pennington-Ramsden, 7th Baronet [1904-86]
