David Foulk Myddelton 1932-2021

 _.David Foulk Myddelton, who died 22 May, 2021, aged 88, was head of that landed gentry family, of Chirk Castle, Denbighshire.

He was born 25 May, 1932, the elder son of Lieutenant-Colonel Ririd Myddelton, LVO [1902-88], and his wife the former Lady Mary Margaret Elizabeth Petty-Fitzmaurice [1910-2003], scion of the Marquesses of Lansdowne.

He married firstly in 1965 [div 1968], Anne Ratcliffe-Brotherton [born 1939], scion of that landed gentry family of Kirkham Abbey, North Yorkshire, daughter of Charles Frederick Ratcliffe-Brotherton, of Kirkham Abbey, and his wife the former Lurline Winifred [Muffy] Elliot-Pyle [1902-94], the racehorse owner; and married 2ndly, 1970, Christine Serena Cherry Morris, daughter of Arthur Malcolm Morris, OBE, of Canberra, Australia.

David Myddelton leaves a son from his first marriage, Guy Charles Myddelton [born 17 Jan, 1966], and a son and daughter from his second marriage, Mark Ririd [born 1973], and Sian Moyra [born 1971].

A private Service of Thanksgiving will be held shortly at St Oswald’s Parish Church, Oswestry.
