_. Sylvia Mary Berkeley [née Maudsley], who died 17 March, 2021, aged 99, was the widow of Lieutenant-Colonel Maurice Berkeley [1921-93], scion of the Barons Berkeley.
She was born in 1921, daughter of John Tennant Maudsley, of Caton, co Lancaster, and married 18 November, 1950, Lt-Col. Maurice Berkeley [born 12 Jan 1921], son of Lieutenant-Colonel Christopher Robert Berkeley, CMG, DSO, OBE [1877-1959], and his wife the former Nest Bradney [1890-1983], scion of that landed gentry family, daughter of Colonel Sir Joseph Alfred Bradney, CB, TD, CStJ [1859-1933], by whoh she had issue, three sons, Hugh, John and Michael.
Her husband died 31 July, 1993.
