Lady Johnson 1943-2021

 _. Caroline, Lady Johnson, who died 28 February, 2021, aged 78, was the widow of Sir Peter Johnson, 7th Baronet.

Her husband was a publisher of sailing books and a significant figure in the development of racing small yachts and in the administration of racing rules and sailing records.

She was the former Caroline Elisabeth Hodsoll, daughter of Sir [Eric] John Hodsoll, a civil servant, and married Peter Colpoys Paley Johnson, as his second wife, in 1973. 

Her husband was born 26 March, 1930, son of Sir John Paley Johnson, 6th Baronet, MBE, & the former Carol Haas, and he succeeded to the family baronetcy in 1975. The baronetcy was created in 1755 for General William Johnson, who held large estates in what was then still the British Colonial Territory of New York State. The title was created to mark the defeat of the French at the Battle of Crown Point.

By her husband, who died 24 May, 2003, aged 73, she leaves a son, Nicholas, who was born in 1977.
