Elizabeth Mary Tudway Quilter [nee Carew Pole] 1929-2021

 _. Elizabeth Mary Tudway Quilter [nee Carew Pole] scion of the Carew Pole baronets, died 14 February, 2021. She was 91. She shared, with Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, descent from the Cavendish-Bentinck Dukes of Portland.

She was born 14 April, 1929, daughter of Sir John Gawen Carew Pole, 12th Baronet [1902-1993], and his 1st wife the former Cynthia Mary Burns [died 1977], descended from the Dukes of Portland, now extinct.

She married 30 Oct, 1953, Capt David Cuthbert Quilter, afterwards Tudway Quilter [1921-2007], scion of the Quilter baronets, and a High Sheriff of Somerset, and Vice-Lord Lieutenant of the County, 1978-95, son of Percy Cuthbert Quilter [1879-1947], and his wife the former Gladys Clare Alice Tudway [1889-1973], by whom she had issue, a son, Simon, and three daughters, Susan, Melanie and Lucy.
