Rupert, descended from the Dukes of Norfolk, is a great-grandson of the portrait painter, Philip de Laszlo, MVO [1869-1937].
Rupert is a son of Martin Richard de Laszlo [1940-2017], and his wife the former Mary Gwendolen Freeman [born 1 Feb, 1945], daughter of Lieutenant-Col John Edward Broke Freeman [1910-1986], and his wife Lady Winefride Alice Fitzalan-Howard [1914-2006], daughter of the 15th Duke of Norfolk [1847-1917], and his 2nd wife, Lady Herries of Terregles [1877-1945] [a Peeress in her own right].
