_. Guy Payan Dawnay, who died 10 September, 2020, aged 75, was a scion of the Viscounts Downe, a great-great-grandson of the 7th Viscount.
He was born 6 October, 1944, the second son of Lieutenant-Colonel Christopher Payan Dawnay [1909-89], by his wife the former Patricia Wake [1919-89], a daughter Major-Gen Sir Hereward Wake, 13th Baronet [1876-1963].
Guy Dawnay married in 1975 [div 1990], Charmian Rose Neilson, daughter of Lt-Col Alistair Neilson, of Callaly, Northumberland, by whom he had issue, two sons, Christopher [Kit], born in 1977, and Mark [born 1979].
