_. David Henry Amherst Tufnell, who died 3 September, 2020, aged 82, was a scion of that landed gentry family.
He was born 15 January, 1938, son of Henry Frederick Erskine Tufnell [1903-82], by his wife the former Susan Mary Pember [1909-92], and was a grandson of the Rev Frederick Tufnell [1861-1920], by his wife the Lady Frances Elizabeth Erskine [1877-1967], daughter of Walter Henry Erskine, Earl of Mar & Kellie [1839-88].
He married in 1968, Frances Watkins, by whom he had issue, a daughter, Emma Elisabeth M. Tufnell [born 1969], and a son, Robert James H. Tufnell [born 1971].
