_. Robert Charles [Robin] Cotton, who died 8 August, 2020, aged 94, was descended from the Cotton baronets, now represented by the Viscounts Combermere.
He was born 31 December, 1925, second son of Colonel Vere Egerton Cotton [1888-1970], by his wife the former Elfreda Helen Moore [1892-1992]; married 30 Oct, 1954, Nicolette Anne Cunliffe [1929-2014], scion of the Cunliffe baronets, daughter of Capt Robert Lionel Brooke Cunliffe [1895-1990], by his wife the former Barbara Eleanor Cooper [1900-70], by whom he had issue, two sons, Richard and Philip, and two daughters, Penelope and Caroline.
