_. Patrick Charles Moore Vaughan, scion of the Vaughans of Courtfield, Herefordshire, died 18 August, 2020, aged 77.
The Vaughans, seated at Courtfield for 500 years, provided the Roman Catholic church with Herbert, Cardinal Vaughan, Archbishop of Westminster and Roger Vaughan, Archbishop of Sydney.
He was born in 1943, a son of Joseph Herbert Vaughan, by his wife the former Mary Holroyd-Smyth, and was descended from the 6th Duke of Newcastle [1834-79].
Patrick Vaughan married in 1971, Lorna P. Findlay [born 1945], daughter of John Findlay, by his wife the former Rita Jennings, by whom he had issue, including sons,[1]Jerome Henry [born 1973], [2] Charles Joseph [born 1975], who married Lady Louise FitzRoy, sister of the Duke of Grafton, [3] John Francis [born 1977], who married the Hon Georgina Byng, daughter of Viscount Torrington.
