The Baroness Lovell-Davis, widow of life peer

_. The Baroness Lovell-Davis, who has died aged 91, was a broadcaster and campaigner who transformed the welfare of children in hospital.

She co-founded a national childrens’ welfare association, created a telephone information service and hosted a radio show for youngsters.

She was born Jean Graham, daughter of Peter Foster Graham and married in 1950, Peter Lovell Davis [1924-2001], political adviser and newspaper director, who was created a life peer by Harold Wilson in 1974, as Baron Lovell-Davis, of Highgate in Greater London. He was a Labour Govt Whip in the Lords 1974-5, and a junior minister in the Department of Energy. He died 6 Jan, 2001.

Lady Lovell-Davis leaves a son, Stephen and a daughter, Catherine.
