He was born 4 January, 1946, the second son of the 15th Lord Lovat, DSO, MC [1911-1995], 25th Chief of the Clan Fraser, by his wife the former Rosamond Broughton [1917-2012].
Kim's father, commander of the Lovat Scouts, 'Shimi' Lovat, the noted commando, led his troops into battle on D-Day buoyed by his personal piper.
Kim Fraser married 18 Oct, 1975, Joanna Katharine North [born 17 Jan, 1953], dau of Major Geoffrey Edward Ford North, MC, by his wife the former Hon Margaret Isolda de Grey [b 14 Aug 1926], daughter of the 8th Baron Walsingham [1884-1965].
Mr Fraser leaves a widow and three sons.
