Hon Mrs Charles Kitchener, 96

_. The Hon Mrs Charles Kitchener died 10 April, 2020, aged 96.

She was a sister-in-law of the 3rd Earl Kitchener of Khartoum, and the mother-in-law of Downton Abbey writer Julian Fellowes.

She was the former Ursula Hope Luck, daughter of Capt Cyril Montagu Luck, CMG, DSO [1872-1944], and married 15 August, 1959, the Hon Charles Eaton Kitchener [1920-82], scion of the Earls Kitchener of Khartoum, son of Henry Franklin Chevallier Kitchener [1878-1928], by his wife the former Adela Mary Evelyn Monins [died 1986]. Her husband, who was raised to the rank of an earl's son in 1938 following his brother's succession to the family earldom, died 30 June, 1982.

Mrs Kitchener leaves a daughter, Emma Joy, Baroness Fellowes of West Stafford [born 18 Feb, 1963], who married 28 Apr, 1990, Julian Alexander Fellowes [b 17 Aug, 1949], the writer, raised to the peerage in 2011, as Baron Fellowes of West Stafford.
