_. Venetia Margaret Chattey [nee Lane], who died 10 March, 2020, aged 87, was a scion of the Lane landed family; born in 1932, daughter of Herbert Arthur Cambridge Lane [1893-1951], by his wife the former Hon Margaret Gertrude Cecil [died 26 Aug, 1962], scion of the Barons Rockley.
She was a granddaughter of Evelyn Cecil, 1st Baron Rockley [1865-1941], and a great-great-granddaughter of the 2nd Marquess of Salisbury [1791-1868].
She married in 1960, Stanley Kemp Chattey [deceased], by whom she had two sons, Michael and Jonathan.
Funeral Service at St Andrew’s Church, Bloxworth, on Friday, 3 April, 2020.
