_. Julian Dana Nimmo Hartland-Swann, CMG [1992], who died in Brussels, 23 March, 2020, aged 84, was a former British Ambassador to Rangoon.
He was born 18 Feb, 1936, son of Prof Joseph John Hartland-Swann [d 29 Oct, 1961], by his wife the former Mary Beatrix Kenlis Taylour [1906-1957], descended from the Earls of Bective [later Marquesses of Headfort]; married firstly, 1960, Ann Deirdre Green [died 2000], daughter of Lieutenant-Commander J.R. Green, RN; married secondly, 2004, Julie Katherine Ryan.
He is survived by a son, Piers, from his first marriage. He was predeceased by a daughter from the first marriage.
