_. The Lord Baden-Powell, 3rd Baron, grandson of the founder of the Boy Scout movement, died 28 December, 2019. He was 83.
Robert Crause Baden-Powell was born 15 October, 1936, son of the 2nd Baron Baden-Powell [1913-1962], by his wife the former Caroline Crause-Boardman [died 1993].
He succeeded to the peerage on his father's death, 9 Dec, 1962, and served as Chief Commissioner, Scout Association 1965-82.
He married 1 Aug, 1963, Patience Helene Mary Batty, CBE, DL [1936-2010], only daughter of Major Douglas Myers Batty.
The barony, created in 1929 and baronetcy created in 1922 now pass to his younger brother, the Hon [David] Michael Baden-Powell [born 11 Dec, 1940].
A Service of Thanksgiving takes place at St Peter and St Paul's Church, Albury, Surrey, 15 January, 2020.
