John Robin Thistlethwayte, who died 10 May, 2019, aged 83, was a scion of that landed gentry family; born in 1935, son of Arthur Donald Claude Thomas Thistlethwayte [1903-56], by his wife the former Hon Gwladys Eileen Berry [1908-55], daughter of the 1st [and last] Baron Buckland; he married 1964, Mary Katherine Grasett [born 1937], daughter of Lieutenant-General Sir [Arthur] Edward Grasett, KBE, CB, DSO, MC [1888-1971] by his wife the former Joan Mary Foster, by whom he had two sons and a daughter.
