_.Capt John Beauchamp 'Beachie' Blackett, late the Coldstream Guards, who died 5 June, 2019, aged 80, was a scion of the Blacketts of Wylam, a Northumberland landed gentry family. He was a celebrated London fishmonger and restaurateur.
He was born 6 May, 1939, the second son of Maj Christopher William Stewart Blackett, DL [908-1985], of The Manse of Borgie, Skerray by Thurso, by his wife the former Kathleen Charlotte Williams-Wynn, scion of the Williams-Wynn baronets; educated at Eton; married 15 January, 1964, Sarah Jennifer [b 1942], elder daughter of James Trevor Gidley Withycombe [1910-84], of Studham, Dunstable, Bedfordshire, by whom he had issue, 2 sons and 3 daughters.
Beachie's sister, Beatrice, is Lady Bland, wife of Maj Sir Simon Bland, KCVO, sometime private secretary to HRH The Duke of Gloucester.
The funeral takes place at St John's Church, Dumfries, 18 June, 2019.
