Dowager Countess of Gosford 1911-2015

_. The Dowager Countess of Gosford, who died 15 January, 2015, aged circa 103, was the second wife, and widow of the 6th Earl of Gosford, OBE (1911-66) {Peerage of Ireland, cr 1806).

She was the former Cynthia Margaret West, born in 1911, daughter of Capt Henry Cave West, MC, RHA, who was killed in Mesopotamia in 1915; married firstly, Maj James Delius, 13th/18th Hussars, who was killed in action in Normandy in 1944; married 2ndly, 21 Sept, 1960, as his second wife, the 6th Earl of Gosford, OBE, who died 17 Feb, 1966, when he was succeeded by a son of his first marriage.

The countess leaves two children from her first marriage, David and Nicky (Christie).
