_.Benjamin John Hanbury, who died 27 September, 2012, was a scion of the landed family, of Hanbury of Hitcham & Melgate; born 19 Jan 1934, and educated at Eton and Oxford, son of Christopher Lionel Hanbury, MBE, DL, by his wife the former Lettice Charrington, scion of that landed family; married 8 May, 1962, Verena Elizabeth Anne, dau of Capt Anthony Martin Kimmins, OBE, RN (1901-64), of the family of Kimmins of Marks Barn, by his wife the former Elizabeth Hodges. He leaves issue, four sons, James, Timothy, Simon and Marcus, and one daughter, Lucinda.
