Cyril Dickman: Steward to the Royal Household, dies

Cyril Dickman, a favourite royal servant, who served the Royal Family for more than 50 years, has died. Lambeth-born Mr Dickman, former Palace Steward died last week aged 85.

Mr Dickman's funeral was held at the Chapel Royal St James's Palace, 27 February, 2012, and the Royal Family were well represented. The Queen and Prince Philip were represented by the Hon Mary Morrison, the Queen's lady in waiting; Wing Commander Richard Pattle represented the Prince of Wales; former royal nanny Mabel Anderson represented the Duke of York, and Lt-Col Sean O'Dwyer represented the Earl of Wessex. The Princess Royal was represented by Rowena Feilden, her lady in waiting. The Duke of Kent was represented by Capt Charles Pearson, and Princess Alexandra by stalwart royal retainer Lady Susan Hussey.
