Kenneth Douglas Evelyn Herbert Harington, who died at Cheltenham, 13 January, 2007, at the age of 95, was Metropolitan Magistrate, 1967-84.
He was born 30 September, 1911, the son of His Honour Edward Harington, and was educated at Stowe.
Career:->>served in the Second World War: Served in NW Europe as Major, Coldstream Guards; Hon Attaché, British Legation, Stockholm, 1930-32; Called to the Bar at the Inner Temple, 1952; Acting Deputy Chairman, Inner London and NE London Quarter Sessions, 1966-67.
He was twice married, firstly, in 1939, to the Lady Cecilia Bowes-Lyon (who died in 1947), daughter of the 15th Earl of Strathmore & Kinghorne, of Glamis Castle, Forfar, and a niece of HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother; married 2ndly, in 1950, Maureen Helen McCalmont (who died in 1992), daughter of Brigadier-General Sir Robert McCalmont, KCVO, CBE, DSO, by whom he had 2 sons, including His Honour Judge Michael Kenneth Harington, a Circuit Judge since 2000, who was b. 9 Aug 1951.
The funeral Service takes place, 26 January, 2006, at St Mary Magdalene, Adlestrop.
