Lady Marioth Christina Hay

The Lady Marioth Christina Hay, who died 29 April, 2006, was a sister of the 12th Marquess of Tweeddale. She was born in 1918, a daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Lord Edward Douglas John Hay, by his wife the former Violet Barclay (a granddaughter of the 3rd Baron Decies); she was raised to the rank of a daughter of a marquess in 1970, and resumed her maiden surname of Hay by deed poll in 1971; married (i) 1940 (div. 1954) Lt-Col George Richard Trotter, of the Royal Scots Greys (descended from the Earls of Eglington & Winton, he d. 1970); married (ii) 1954, as his 2nd wife,Sir Gifford Wheaton Grey Fox, 2nd Baronet, who died in 1959 (when his baronetcy became extinct); married (iii) 1963 (div. 1971) Sir John Hastings James, KCVO, CB, who died in 1980; and has issue living by her 1st marriage. The funeral takes place at St Mary's Church, East Haddington, 9 May, 2006.
