Giles Arthington Worsley

Giles Arthington Worsley, who was b. 22 March 1961; died 17 January, 2006, aged 44, was a nephew of HRH The Duchess of Kent. He was the second son of Sir William Marcus John Worsley, 5th Baronet (b. 6 April, 1925), by his wife the Hon. Bridget Assheton (1926-2004), daughter of the 1st Baron Clitheroe. He enjoyed a distinguished career as an architectural historian and critic, most recently for the Daily Telegraph which he joined as architectural correspondent in 1998. He married in 1996, Joanna Beaufort Pitman (b. 1963), then a journalist on The Times, scion of that BLG family, and a great-granddaughter of the 1st Baron Luke (Her grandmother, the Hon Margaret Beaufort Lawson Johnston married Sir Isaac Pitman). He is survived by his wife, by whom he had three daughters (one daughter Emma Sylvia, was b. 13 Oct, 2000). Another daughter was born in the street outside the Portland Hospital, if my memory serves me correctly.
