Susannah Gurdon (nee Bates) wife of the Hon. (Sacha William) Robin Gurdon, (b. 12 August, 1970), son and heir of the 3rd Baron Cranworth, of Grundisburgh, Suffolk, gave birth to a son, Alec Martin Philip, 8 January, 2006.
Robin Gurdon's late mother, Baroness Cranworth was a Montagu Douglas Scott, of the Dukes of Buccleuch; and Susannah Gurdon is a daughter of Mr & Mrs Martin Bates, of Belchester, Berwickshire.
