Gerald Percy, cousin of the Duke of Northumberland

Gerald Percy, company director, sometime director of Lonrho, scion of the Dukes of Northumberland, died suddenly 18 July, 2005, after a brief illness, aged 77. He was b. 26 Apr, 1928, second son of Lord William Richard Percy (1882-1963) by his wife Mary, dau of Capt. George Sitwell Campbell Swinton (of that BLG family); married 1stly 1950 (divorced 1953), Alison Jannice, elder daughter of Sir Herbert Ribton Meredith, of Nairobi; married 2ndly, 30 Oct 1954, Jennifer (divorced 1975), daughter of John Home-Rigg ( he d. 6 Feb 1998, aged 75), by whom he had 2 sons and 2 daughters. (Lord Gerald's 2nd wife married as her second husband, Times 15 Nov, 1978, the 6th Marquis of Bute, KBE (1933-93)); married 3rdly, in London, 24 Jan, 1983, Miss Victoria T. Henderson, daughter of Dr and Mrs Roger Henderson, of London, formerly of Nairobi. (Times 25 Jan, 1983). He is survived by his 3rd wife and four children from his second marriage. The funeral took place on 29 July.
