Geoffrey David Wentworth-Stanley (1924-2005)

(Geoffrey) David Wentworth-Stanley, who died 18 August, 2005, aged 81, was a member of the Burke's Landed Gentry family of Wentworth-Stanley of High Wych.
He was born 28 May, 1924, 3rd son of Charles Sidney Bowen Wentworth-Stanley, CBE (1892-1960), of High Wych Grange (head of the family), by his first wife, Edith Katharine Brocklebank (scion of the Brocklebank Baronets), and was educated at Eton.
Career: -->> served in World War II as a lieutenant with the 9th Lancers, 1944-47; member of White's and Buck's Clubs and the MCC; landowner, of Great Munden House, Ware, Hertfordshire, &c.
He married 1 March, 1951, Bridget (b. 1926), eldest daughter of the late Maj. Philip Ivan Pease (d. 1964, of that BLG family), by his wife Doris Madeline Crichton (b. 1904), scion of the Earls of Erne.
He is survived by his wife and issue:-
(i) [David] Michael, b. 1952, married to Jane Hall (descended from the Marquesses of Dufferin & Ava) (ii) Nicholas Philip, b. 1954 (his 1st wife, Clare Steel, is now wife of the 4th Marquess of Milford Haven) (iii) Christopher James, b. 1962. (iv) Adrian, b. 1965
A Service of Thanksgiving takes place at All Saints Church, Little Munden, Hertfordshire, 7 September, 2005.
