 Prince Ludovico Giulio Francesco Maria Rospigliosi, who died in Milan, 21 November, 2024, aged 90, was a scion of the Earls of Newburgh (Peerage of Scotland, cr 1660).

He was born 30 June, 1934, son of Prince Guglielmo Camillo Carlo Rospigliosi (1908-1990), and his 1st wife the former Hon Helen Lyon-Dalberg-Acton (1910-2001), daughter of the 2nd Baron Acton (1870-1924); and married 19 December, 1960, Giovanna Sallier de la Tour, daughter of Carlo Sallier de la Tour, 8th Marquis de Cordonn et Combloux, by whom he had issue, a son, Camillo (born 13 June, 1969), and two daughters, Maria (born 11 May, 1966), and Olimpia (born 6 January, 1975).

The Hon Mrs Edward Lytton Cobbold (nee Meyer-Johann), wife of the Hon Edward Lytton Cobbold (born 23 April, 1992), gave birth to a daughter, Hermione Elizabeth, 17 October, 2024.

Edward Lytton Cobbold is the son and heir of the 3rd Baron Cobbold (born 12 May, 1962), of Knebworth, Hertfordshire, and his wife the former Martha Frances Boone.

Mrs Cobbold is the former Helena Meyer-Johann, daughter of Frau Dr Ulrike and Herr Dr Carsten Meyer-Johann, of Enger, Germany.

The Cobbold peerage was created in 1960 for Edward's great-grandfather, Cameron Fromanteel Cobbold, KG, GCVO, PC, Governor of the Bank of England 1949-61, and Lord Chamberlain to Queen Elizabeth II 1963-1971.

Sir Stephen Roberts Furness, 3rd Baronet 1933-2024

 Sir Stephen Furness, 3rd Baronet, died 16 November, 2024, aged 91.

Sir Stephen was a farmer and sporting/landscape artist. He was born 10 October, 1933, son of Sir Christopher Furness, 2nd Baronet (1900-1974), and his wife the former Violet Flower Chipchase Roberts (who died in 1988), and succeeded to the baronetcy (cr UK, 1913, of Tunstall Grange), 21 June, 1974.

His home for some years was Stanhow Farm, Great Langton, Northallerton, North Yorkshire.

He married 6 April 1961, Mary Cann, daughter of Jack Fitzroy Cann, of Cullompton, Devon, by whom he had issue, a son, Michael and a daughter, Serena.

Career: served in the Royal Navy (1952); Observer, Fleet Air Arm, 1957, retired 1962; NCA Newton Rigg Farm Institute 1964; member of the Armed Forces Art Society; member Darlington Art Soc.

He is succeeded in the baronetcy by his only son, Michael Fitzroy Roberts Furness (born 12 Oct, 1962).

The 14th Viscount Massereene & (7th) Ferrard 1940-2024

 The Viscount Massereene & Ferrard died 13 November, 2024, aged 84.

He was the 14th Viscount Massereene, in the Peerage of Ireland (created by Charles II in 1660), and the 7th Viscount Ferrard (also in the Peerage of Ireland, cr 1797). He was also the 14th Baron Loughneagh (Peerage of Ireland, 1660), and 7th Baron Oriel (Peerage of Ireland, cr 1790), and 7th Baron Oriel (in the Peerage of the UK, cr 1821).

John David Clotworthy Whyte-Melville Foster Skeffington was born 3 June, 1940, son of the 13th Viscount Massereene & (6th) Ferrard, DL (1914-1992), by his wife the former Annabelle Kathleen Lewis (who died 2009).

He succeeded to the peerages on his father's death, 27 December, 1992.  The peer was a landowner and stockbroker. He served in the Grenadier Guards 1958-61, the Stock Exchange 1961-64, in the motor trade 1964-70, and held various directorships. He gave his recreations (in Who's Who) as vintage cars, stalking and shooting.

He married 21 November, 1970, (Anne) Denise Rowlandson, daughter of Norman Rowlandson, of Kingston Hill, Surrey, by whom he had issue, two sons, Charles & Henry, and a daughter, Harriette.

The elder son, the Hon Charles Clotworthy Whyte-Melville Skeffington (born 7 February, 1973), succeeds to the family honours.

Celia Rose Benitz (nee Weinstock, born 1985), wife of Max Edward F. Benitz [born 1985], gave birth to a son Ajax Simon Wilhelm, 9 November, 2024.

Celia is the second daughter of the late Hon Simon Andrew Weinstock [1952-96], and his wife the former Laura Helen Legh [born 16 May, 1954] [now Laura Weinstock Sykes, of Milton Lilbourne, Wiltshire] scion of the Barons Newton.

Max Benitz is the youngest son of Bryan Benitz, of Wylye, Wiltshire, and his wife, nee ____ Hutchinson.

The Baron Prescott 1938-2024

 The Baron Prescott, who died 20 November, 2024, aged 86, was a life peer and politician, who served as Deputy Prime Minister from 1997 to 2007, and as First Secretary of State from 2001 to 2007.

John Leslie Prescott (born 31 May, 1938),  was a son of John Herbert Prescott (1911-2001), and his wife the former Phyllis Parrish (who died 2003). Prescott served as Labour MP for Kingston upon Hull East for 40 years, from 1970 to 2010. He was often seen as the political link to the working class in a Labour Party increasingly led by modernising, middle-class professionals such as Tony Blair and Peter Mandelson, and developed a reputation as a key conciliator in the often fractious relationship between Blair and Gordon Brown.

It was announced on 28 May 2010 that Prescott was to be awarded a life peerage. The peerage was gazetted on 15 June in the 2010 in the Dissolution Honours. He was introduced into the House of Lords on 8 July, 2010, as Baron Prescott, of Kingston upon Hull in the County of East Yorkshire.

Lord Prescott is survived by his wife the former Pauline Tilston, whom he married in 1961, and leaves issue, two sons.

He was appointed to the Privy Council in 1994, but resigned in 2013.

 David Murray Davidson died 15 November, 2024. 

He was a son of Colonel Robert St Clair Davidson (1900-1993), of The Manor House, Upham, Hampshire, by his wife the former Helen E. Peter Robert Nutting, JP, DL 1935-2024

 Peter Robert Nutting, JP, DL, who died 18 November, 2024, aged 89, was a scion of the Nutting baronets.

He was commissioned into the Irish Guards, and later served as chairman of Edward & John Burke between 1965 and 1968. He was chairman of IGI Insurance Company, Hampden Agencies, Telecom Plus and Directory. He was a JP for inner London  and was member of the Council of Lloyds. Nutting was High Sheriff of Surrey in 1999, and was a deputy lieutenant of the county. 

He was born 22 October, 1935, son of Capt Arthur Ronald Stansmore Nutting (1888-1964), and his wife the former Patricia Eizabeth Jameson (1905-2006), and was a grandson of Sir John Gardiner Nutting, 1st Baronet (1852-1918); and married 31 March, 1965, Cecilia Hester Marie-Louise Russell (born 22 October, 1942), scion of the Barons Ampthill (descended from the Dukes of Bedford), by daughter of Maj. Cosmo Rex Ivor Russell (1911-2003), and his wife the former Agnes Mary Parsons (1918-2003), scion of the Earls of Rosse, by whom he had issue, two sons William (born 19 June, 1968), and Rupert (born 20 Oct, 1971), and a daughter, Amanda (born 25 May, 1966).

Elizabeth Frances Husted (nee Hanbury-Williams) 1929-2024

 Elizabeth Frances Husted, who died in Washington DC, 7 November, 2024, aged 94, was a scion of the Hanbury-Williams landed gentry family.

She was born 6 December, 1929, a daughter of Sir John Colbrook Hanbury-Williams, CVO (1892-1965), and his wife  Zenaida "Ida" Cantacuzene (1908-80), a daughter of Prince Michael Cantacuzene, Count Speransky (1875-1955) and Julia Dent (Grant) Cantacuzene (1876-1975), herself a granddaughter of Gen. Ulysses S, Grant (1822-85), 18th President of the United States, 1869-77.

Her father was appointed a Gentleman Usher to King George V in 1931, and served as Gentleman Usher to King Edward VIII in 1936. Between 1936 and 1965 Hanbury-Williams held the office of Lieutenant of the City of London. He was Gentleman Usher to King George VI between 1937 and 1946, and was Extra Gentleman Usher to the King between 1946 and 1952. He was invested as a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in the 1956 New Year Honours.

She married firstly, at St James's, Spanish Place, London, 24 July, 1951 (div. 1968), Brian Patrick Morgan Keeling (1927-1990), son of Sir John Henry Keeling (1895-1978), of Sedlescombe, Sussex, and his wife the former Dorothy May Finucane; and married 2ndly, in London, 6 June, 1972, John Grinnell Wetmore Husted, Jr (1926-1999), son of John Grinnell Wetmore Husted (1897-1965), of Bedford, Westchester County, New York, and his wife the former Helen Armstrong (1901-1964). 

From her first marriage she had issue, a son, Patrick Keeling (born 31 May, 1956), and a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth (born 6 July, 1954, who died in August, 2024, aged 70), wife of Henry Greville Cator (born 26 March, 1956), scion of that landed gentry family.

 The Countess of Elgin and Kincardine, who died 15 November, 2024, was the wife of the centenarian 11th Earl of Elgin & (15th) of Kincardine, KT, of Broomhall, Dunfermline, Fife.

She was the former Victoria Mary Usher, born at Bolton, East Lothian, in 1939, the only daughter of Major Dudley George Usher, MBE, of Larach Bhan, Kilchrennan, co. Argyll, by his wife Antonia Mary Wilkinson (who died 1997), 1st daughter of Major General Sir Percival Spearman Wilkinson KCMG, CB (1865-1953), of Rosebery House, Gorebridge, co. Midlothian, and descended from the Hunter Blair baronets.

She married 27 April, 1959, the then Andrew Douglas Alexander Thomas Bruce, styled Lord Bruce (born 17 February, 1924), son and heir of the 10th Earl of Elgin (14th) Earl of Kincardine, KT, CMG (1881-1968), and his wife the Hon Katherine Elizabeth Cochrane, DBE (died 1989), 3rd daughter of the 1st Baron Cochrane of Cults, DL, JP (1857-1951).

Her husband succeeded his father, 27 November, 1968, as the 11th Earl of Elgin (Scotland, let. pat. 21 Jun 1633), as the 15th Earl of Kincardine (Scotland, let. pat. 26 Dec 1647), the 13th Lord Bruce of Kinloss (Scotland, let. pat. 3 May 1608), 15th Lord Bruce of Torry (Scotland, let. pat. 26 Dec 1647), 4th Baron Elgin, of Elgin (United Kingdom, let. pat. 13 Nov 1849), and 37th Chief of the Name and Arms of Bruce.

Lord Elgin served as Grand Master Mason of Scotland 1960-65; Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland 1980-81; Knight of the Thistle 1981; Lord Lieutenant of Fife 1987-99; Order of Merit (Norway) 1994, &c.

He was born 3 Aug, 1930, younger son of Sir Edward Reynell Anson, 6th Baronet (1902-1951), and his wife the former Frances Alison Pollock (1903-1997)' and married 20 July, 1957, Myrica Anne Fergie-Woods (born 1933), daughter of Dr Harold Fergie-Woods, of Liphook, Hampshire, by whom he had two sons, Dr Christopher Anson (born 22 May, 1958), and Timothy John Anson (1967-1999), and two daughters, Rachel Mary (born 6 Dec, 1961), and Elizabeth Margaret (born 2 Nov, 1968).

His elder brother was Rear-Admiral Sir Peter Anson, 7th Baronet (1924-2018), and was the uncle of Sir Philip Anson, 8th Baronet (born 4 Oct, 1957).
