She was born in 1919, a daughter of Claude Francis Strickland, CIE (1881-1962); married 1stly, 1942, Anthony William Vivian, who served in the RAF Vol res. He was killed in action in 1942; married 2ndly, 1946, Capt Anthony James (Tony) Parr (1914-96), and leaves a son, Francis and a daughter, Laetitia, from her first union.

Dr the Hon Katherine Anne Lyon Tryon (nee Carroll, b 1981), wife of the Hon Charles George Barrington Tryon (b 15 May 1976), godson of the Prince of Wales, gave birth to a daughter, Corinna Rose, 6 Feb, 2012. The Baron St John of Fawsley, the former Conservative MP as Norman St John-Stevas, died 2 March, 2012, aged 82. He served as Arts Minister (1979-81) and Leader of the House of Commons and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (1979-81) in the administration of  Margaret Thatcher and later served as Master of Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and chairman of the Royal Fine Art Commission. His Who’s Who entry reveals that Norman Anthony Francis St John-Stevas was the only son of an engineer and company director, Stephen Stevas, and his wife, Kitty St John O’Connor, and that he was born in London, 18 May 1929.

Rosamond Lady Lovat, who died at her home 3 March, 2012, aged 94, was the widow of the 15th Lord Lovat, MC (1911-1995), of Beauly, Inverness-shire, and was a scion of the (Delves) Broughton Baronets. She was born 20 May, 1917, only dau of Sir Henry John Delves Broughton, 11th Baronet (1883-1942) by his 1st wife, the former Vera Edyth Griffith-Boscawen, and married Lord Lovat in 1938. She leaves issue. Her grandson, Simon, 35, is the current peer.

Charles Armstrong-Jones's appointment

The Hon Charles Patrick Inigo Armstrong-Jones (b 1 July 1999), son of Viscount and Viscountess Linley and a great nephew of Her Majesty the Queen has been appointed a Page of Honour to HM, and will be in scarlet tunic and breeches at the State Opening of Parliament in May, then at the annual Garter service in Windsor on the Monday of Royal Ascot week.

Beryl Lady Mustill

Beryl Lady Mustill (nee Reid), who died 18 February, 2012, aged 79, was the first wife of Michael Mustill, the Baron Mustill (b 1931) life peer, and a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary 1992-97. She was born 19 Feb, 1932, and married Michael Mustill in 1960. He was knighed in 1978 on his appointment as a Judge of the High Court. They divorced in 1983, and he was raised to the peerage in 1992.

Sir James Arthur Cayzer, 5th Baronet

Sir James Arthur Cayzer, 5th Baronet, scion of a great British shipping family, died at Kinpurnie Castle, Angus, 27 February, 2012. He was 80. He was born 15 Nov, 1931, second son of Sir Charles William Cayzer, 3rd Baronet (1896-1940) by his wife the former Beatrice Eileen Meakin; succeeded to the baronetcy (cr UK, 1904), on the death of his elder brother, Sir Nigel, the 4th Baronet, who was killed in action at Salerno, 11 Sept, 1943. The 5th Baronet was unmarried and the baronetcy now devolves upon his kinsman, the 3rd Baron Rotherwick.

Cyril Dickman: Steward to the Royal Household, dies

Cyril Dickman, a favourite royal servant, who served the Royal Family for more than 50 years, has died. Lambeth-born Mr Dickman, former Palace Steward died last week aged 85.

Mr Dickman's funeral was held at the Chapel Royal St James's Palace, 27 February, 2012, and the Royal Family were well represented. The Queen and Prince Philip were represented by the Hon Mary Morrison, the Queen's lady in waiting; Wing Commander Richard Pattle represented the Prince of Wales; former royal nanny Mabel Anderson represented the Duke of York, and Lt-Col Sean O'Dwyer represented the Earl of Wessex. The Princess Royal was represented by Rowena Feilden, her lady in waiting. The Duke of Kent was represented by Capt Charles Pearson, and Princess Alexandra by stalwart royal retainer Lady Susan Hussey.

Hon Peregrine John Wishart Fairfax

The Hon. Peregrine John Wishart Fairfax, a son of the 12th Lord Fairfax of Cameron, died 23rd February, 2012. He was 86. Mr Fairfax was born 8 March, 1925. His father, Albert Kirby Fairfax (1870-1939) succeeded his father in 1900 as 12th holder of the peerage (cr Scotland, 1627).

Peregrine's mother was thre former Maude Wishart McKelvie, who d. 4 Oct, 1973.

He married 1965, Virginia Alexandra de L'Etang Kindersley, scion of the Barons Kindersley, by whom he had issue, a son, Thomas, b 1966, and a daughter, Doune, b 1968.

Mr Fairfax was best man at the wedding of Princess Alexandra of Kent and the Hon Angus Ogilvy at Westminster Abbey in April, 1963. He served as High Sheriff of Northumberland in 1971.

The funeral takes place at Berwick-upon-Tweed, 21 Mar, 2012.

The Baron Corbett of Castle Vale (Life Peer, cr 2001) died 19 February, 2012. He was 78. As Robin Corbett MP he sponsored a ground-breaking Private Members Bill in the Commons in 1976 which provided anonymity to the victims of rape. Robin Corbett was born 22 Dec, 1933, & was twice married. A daughter, Polly Hudson, is a columnist on the Daily Mirror.

The QUEEN has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm dated 6 February 2012 to appoint The Right Honourable Robert John Reed (commonly called Lord Reed) to be a Justice of the Supreme 
Court of the United Kingdom. 

Robert John REED (b 1956) is the son of George Reed. He m 1988, Jane Mylne and they have 2 daus. He was made a PC in 2008. He was appointed 1998 a Senator of the College of Justice in Scotland (a Lord of Session).

6th Baron Stratheden & Campbell (1934-2011)

The 6th Baron Stratheden & Campbell died 23 October, 2011. He was 77. Donald Campbell was born 4 April, 1934, son of the 5th Baron (1901-87) by his wife the former Evelyn Mary Austen Smith (d 1989); succeeded to the peerages (Stratheden, UK cr 1836 & Campbell, UK, cr 1841), on his father's demise, 29 Oct, 1987.

Lord Stratheden & Campbell married in 1957, Hilary Ann Holland Turner (d 1991), by whom he had issue, one son and three daughters. The son, David Anthony, born 13 Feb 1963, succeeds to the peerage.

Simon Mark Noel Ponsonby (1961-2012)

Simon Mark Noel Ponsonby, who died 14 February, 2012, aged 50, was distantly related to the Earls of Bessborough. He was born in 1961, the son of Commander Francis Ponsonby, LVO, OBE, RN (1932-2003) by his former wife the former Sally Cocup.

Simon's paternal grandfather was Gilbert Jocelyn Ponsonby (b 4 May 1904), who was a son of the Rev. Stewart Gordon Ponsonby (1856-1938), who married in 1889, Mary Catherine Buxton (1870-1960), dau of Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton, 3rd Baronet (1837-1915), by his wife the former Lady Victoria Noel, daughter of the 1st Earl of Gainsborough, &c.

The Ponsonby line here stems from John Ponsonby, a brother of William 1st Baron Bessborough.

_Victoria Lady Heathcote, who died in Hampshire, 7 February, 2012, aged 74, was the widow of Sir Michael Perryman Heathcote, 11th Baronet (1927-2007). She was the former Victoria Wilford, daughter of Commander James Edward Rickards Wilford, RNR, of Lymington, Hants, and married Sir Michael in 1956. Her husband died 13 Apr 2007. She leaves issue. _Sonia Audrey Elwes (nee Sebag-Montefiore), who died at Sherborne, 9 February, 2012, aged 87, was the wife of Capt Robert Valentine Gervase Elwes (1922-59), scion of the landed family of Elwes of Roxby. She was born circa 1924, a dau of Lt-Col. Eric Cecil Sebag-Montefiore, of Le Mote, Pebmarsh, Essex; & married 8 Oct 1946. She leaves issue, two sons and a daughter. Her elder son, Martin Robert Stephen (b 1948) married 1984, Sarah Marianne Worsley, scion of the Worsley Baronets and niece of HRH The Duchess of Kent, &c. -==-

6th Baron Revelstoke (1938-2012)

_The 6th Baron Revelstoke, a member of the Baring banking family, died 7 February, 2012. He was 73. James Cecil Baring was born 16 Aug 1938, a younger son of the 4th Baron (1911-94), by his wife the former Hon Florence Flora Fermor-Hesketh, scion of the Barons Hesketh; succeeded to the peerage (cr Baron UK, 1885), on the demise of his elder brother John, 5th Baron, 5 June, 2003. Lord Revelstoke married twice and has issue from both unions. The elder son of the first marriage, Alexander Rupert Baring, born 9 Apr 1970, succeeds to the family honours. -==-

Charlotte Gräfin Szapary (nee Star Busmann) died in Vienna on 8th February 2012. The funeral will take place in Dobersberg, Austria on 15th February at 2 pm. A Service of Thanksgiving will be held at Christ Church, Vienna, on 16th February at 6 pm.

Lady Mary Colman is a sister of the late 17th Earl of Strathmore & Kinghorne, and a cousin of Queen Elizabeth II.

_The Hon Bevil David Stewart Chandos Grenville, Master of Kinloss, son and heir of the Lady Kinloss (a peeress in her own right), died 31 January, 2012. He was born 20 June, 1953, the only son of Lady Kinloss by her husband Capt Greville Freeman-Grenville (d 2005), and married in 2001,  Marie-Therese Sturrock (widow of Stuart Sturrock), dau. of William Driscoll, of Otley, West Yorkshire. No issue.

.The Baroness Gore-Booth died 2 February, 2012. She was the widow of life peer The Baron Gore-Booth, GCMG, KCVO (1909-1984). She was the former  Patricia Mary Ellerton, daughter of Montague Ellerton, of Yokohama, Japan, and married in 1940. She leaves issue. Her son the Hon Sir David Gore-Booth, KCMG, KCVO predeceased her.
