Death of Lord Mottistone, CBE, 90

_.The Baron Mottistone, CBE, who died 24 November, 2011, aged 90, was the 4th Baron in the Peerage of the UK [Cr 1933]. David Peter Seely was born 16 Dec 1920, a son of the 1st Baron Mottistone [1868-1947] by his 2nd wife the Hon Evelyn Murray, dau of the 1st Viscount Elibank, and succeeded to the peerage on the demise of his half-brother, 4 Dec, 1966. He married in 1944, Anthea Christine McMullan [d. 22 Nov 2010], by whom he had issue, 2 sons, and three daughters. the peerage now devolves upon His Lordship's elder son, the Hon Peter John Philip Seely, b 29 Oct, 1949.

_.Sheridan Ulric Thynne, who died in Egypt, 19 November, 2011, was a scion of the Marquesses of Bath. Mr Thynne was 72. He was born in 1939 a son of Lt-Col Oliver St Maur Thynne [1901-78] by his wife Mary. He married in 1964, Eve Clare Cardew, by whom he had one son and three daughters.

Death of Countess of Dudley, former Rank starlet Maureen Swanson

_The Countess of Dudley, wife of William Humble David Ward, 4th Earl of Dudley, has died in her sleep after a long illness. She was the comely Rank starlet Maureen Swanson prior to her aristocratic marriage.

Lady Dudley is survived by the earl, 91, and by a son, Leander, and five daughters, Susanna, Melissa, Victoria, Amelia and Emma.

A Requiem Mass is to take place at Chris Church, Eldon Rd, Kensington W8, November 25, 2011.

She was born 18 April, 1917, daughter of Dr Alexander Nathaniel Knox Sparrow, and married 1stly, 24 February, 1938 (div. 1945), John Lubbock, 3rd Baron Avebury (1915-1971), son of the Hon Harold Fox Pitt Lubbock (1888-1918), and his wife the former Hon Dorothy Charlotte Forster (1891-1983), daughter of the 1st & last Baron Forster (1866-1936). Her husband was a grandson of the 1st Baron Avebury (1834-1918). She married 2ndly, Dr Donald Allan Polson (1911-2003).

Sir Lancelot ERRINGTON OF BEESLACK KCB (1917-2011) head of that Scots
gentry family of Beeslack (a cadet branch of the ERRINGTONS of
Chadwell Hall) son of Maj Lancelot ERRINGTON (1889-1965) and Elizabeth
Hall (d 1967, dau & h of Maj Charles Henry SANFORD of Beeslack,
Midlothian and Elizabeth Hall, daughter and heiress of Sir John COWAN
1st and last Bt, of Beeslack, Midlothian). He m 1939 Katharine Reine,
dau of Thomas Cropper MACAULAY MC of Kingsmill, Painswick, Glos. They
had 3 sons and 2 daus, the eldest son, Thomas Lancelot Macaulay (b 23
May 1943 and m with issue incl a son and heir), succeeds him as head
of the family.

(1890-1977) and Elizabeth Ruth CARPENTER (d 1938). He m 1st 1940 Ruth
Pamela (div 1961, dau of Major S A BODDAM-WHETHAM of that gentry
family) and had two sons. He m 2nd 1961 (as her 2nd h) Audrey Helen
Anne (1919-2009 d of late Maj-Gen Frederick George BEAUMONT-NESBITT
CVO CBE MC (1893-1971, scion of the marquesses of WILLINGDON) and his
1st w Cecilia Mary Lavinia (1893-1920, d of Maj.-Gen the Hon Sir Cecil
