Digby Godfrey Michael John Willoughby was born 1 May, 1921, son of the 11th peer, by his wife the former Angela Florence Alfreda Hall; succeeded to the barony (cr GB 1711/12) and baronetcy (cr 1677), on the demise of his father, 16 Nov 1970. He married, 14 Oct 1947, Janet Marshall-Cornwall, only surv. dau. of Gen Sir James Handyside Marshall-Cornwall KCB CBE DSO MC, of Cadogan Place, London, by his wife Marjorie Caralie Owen, 2nd dau. of William Scott Owen OBE, of Cefngwifed, Newtown, co. Montgomery, &c; by whom he had issue.

The peerage devolves upon his Lordship's son, the Hon Michael Charles James Willoughby, born 14 Jul 1948.

Death of Lady Kennard

Lady Kennard, one of the Queen's closest friends, and mother of the Duchess of Westminster, died 28 April, 2011.

Lady Kennard was born Georgina Wernher in Edinburgh, Scotland, on 17 October 1919 to Sir Harold Augustus Wernher, 3rd Bt., and Countess Anastasia de Torby. On 10 October 1944, she married Lt.-Col. Harold Phillips (1909–1980). They had five children:

Nicholas Harold Phillips (23 August 1947–1 March 1991)
Fiona Mercedes Phillips (born 30 March 1951)
