Sir Conrad Swan, who died 10 January, 2019, aged 94, was Garter Principal King of Arms, 1992-95; Genealogist: Order of the Bath, 1972-95; Grand Priory, Order of St John of Jerusalem, 1976-95; First Hon Genealogist, Order of St Michael & St George, 1989-95; Rouge Dragon Pursuivant of Arms, 1962-68; York Herald of Arms, 1968-92; Registrar and Senior Herald-in-Waiting, College of Arms, 1982-92; &c.
He was appointed LVO, 1978; CVO, 1986; KCVO, 1994.
Conrad Marshall John Fisher Swan was born 31 May, 1924, , younger son of Dr Henry Peter Swan, by his wife Edna Green; married 1957, the Lady Hilda Susan Mary Northcote (who d 1995), daughter of the 3rd Earl of Iddesleigh, by whom he had one son and four daughters.
