She was born Lady Evelyn Rose Phipps, 18 November, 1955, th second daughter of the 4th Marquis of Normanby, KG (1912-94), of Mulgrave Castle, Whitby, by his wife the former Hon Grania Maeve Rosaura Guinness (1920-2018), scion of the Barons Moyne; married 1986, the Hon James Ernest Buchan (born 11 June, 1954), a son of the 3rd Baron Tweedsmuir (1916-2008) by his former wife the former Barbara Howard Ensor (1924-69), by whom she had a son and two daughters.
The funeral takes place at St Oswald's Church, Lythe, near Whitby, North Yorkshire, 6 September, 2018.
