Sir Edward Duckworth, 4th Baronet

Sir Edward Duckworth, 4th Baronet, died 7 October, 2005, after a short
illness. He was aged 62.

Edward Richard Dyce Duckworth was born 13th July, 1943, the elder son
of Sir Richard Dyce Duckworth, 3rd Baronet, of Shootash, Romsey,
Hampshire, by his wife Violet Alison (who d. 1996), daughter of
Lieutenant-Colonel George Boothby Wauchope, DSO, of The Mount House,
Highclere, Newbury, Berkshire.

He was educated at Marlborough, and Cranfield, and succeeded to the
baronetcy on the demise of his father in 1997.

The baronetcy was created in 1909 for the eminent physician Dyce
Duckworth, treasurer of the Royal College of Physicians 1884-1923, and
Hon. Physician to King Edward VII when Prince of Wales 1890-1901.

Sir Edward married in 1976, Patricia, daughter of Thomas Cahill, by
whom he had one son, James, and one daughter, Helen Dyce Duckworth, b.
1987.

The baronetcy now passes to his only son, James Dyce Duckworth, born in
1984.
