Lady Durie, who died 8 October, 2005, was the widow of Sir Alexander Charles Durie, Kt, CBE, the businessman, sometime Managing Director of Shell-Mex and BP, who was knighted in 1977.
She was the former Joyce May Hargreaves, daughter of Lionel Richard Hargreaves and married Sir Alexander (b. 15 July, 1915) in 1941. He was a son of Charles Durie, who d. 1948. Lady Durie leaves 1 son, Alistair, and one daughter, Juliet, who married in 1968, the Hon. (John) Greville Napier (1939-88), a son of the 13th Lord Napier & Ettrick.
