The engagement was announced 16 December, 2005, between Capt. Oliver G.H. King, The Light Dragoons, son of Mr David King and the late Mrs King, of Shaw, Wiltshire, & Rosalind Mary Cowie (b. 1977), daughter of the late Maj. Nigel Cowie (who died in 1991), by his wife, the former Hon. (Rosalind) Juliana Brooke (b. 1950) (now the Hon. Mrs Christopher Grose, of Aldsworth, Gloucestershire).
Rosalind Cowie is a granddaughter maternally of the 2nd Viscount Brookeborough, by his wife Rosemary Chichester, scion of the Marquesses of Donegall.
