Joanna Moncrieff (nee Peto), who died suddenly in South Africa, 2 November, 2005, was a scion of the Peto Baronets (created 1927). She was born in 1938, as Joanna Dava Peto, daughter of Maj. Basil Arthur John Peto (1900-54), King's Dragoon Guards, 3rd son of the 1st Baronet, by his wife Patricia Geraldine Browne; and married 1957, Capt. Charles St. John Graham Moncrieff, Scots Guards, a descendant of the Viscounts Bolingbrooke. She had issue, a son, Alexander (b. 1967), & daughters, Charlotte (b. 1959), Miranda, b. 1961 (wife of the Hon. Mark Baring son and heir of the 7th Baron Ashburton), and Rosanna, b. 1965.
